Remembering Charlie Kirk
Today, we lost Charlie Kirk — a voice that, whether you agreed with him or not, spoke with conviction and stood firmly by what he believed. I would catch some of his arguments here and there on Facebook, and one thing was clear: he was unafraid to challenge the status quo.
Charlie often spoke about how many colleges and universities operate like a business, preying on dreams that too often never come to fruition. You may not like that perspective, but the statistics don’t lie. Unless you’re pursuing a very specific path — like becoming a doctor or a lawyer — the outcome may not be what you hoped for. On that point, I didn’t disagree with him.
He rooted his opinions in biblical principles and stood behind them with empathy. Many called him a bully, but often it was because they couldn’t prove him wrong. To me, he was simply a man who wanted to be a good man, a devoted husband, and a loving father.
What happened to him was undeserved — no one should lose their life for holding an opinion. My heart goes out to the Kirk family in this time of unimaginable loss. May you find comfort in the love and prayers being sent your way.
Rest in peace, Charlie.
May your courage to speak truth, your devotion to family, and your unwavering faith echo far beyond your years. 🩶
